All classes are taught in English, and teachers are trained in strategies to support English Language Learners with language acquisition. 

Champions serves as our official Before and After School Program provider.  We also offer a variety of paid after-school enrichment opportunities, including guitar, keyboarding, soccer, pickleball, tennis, golf, and robotics. 

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs, including art, music, and chess. This year, we’re also excited to join Wesley’s Mile Program.  Our fifth-grade students can take part in leadership roles such as News Crew, Safety Patrol, and Student Council. Additionally, we are proud to recognize outstanding students through induction into the National Elementary Honor Society.

We take great pride in our strong ADDitions volunteer program, which offers numerous ways for families to get involved at Summerlake Elementary.  We warmly invite families to participate in our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), School Advisory Council (SAC), and Multilingual Parent Leadership Council (MPLC).

Summerlake Elementary opened its doors in August 2020. The 2025–2026 school year marks our sixth year of serving students and families.  Our diverse community includes students from nine different countries who speak eight different languages.

Summerlake Elementary was recognized as a School of Excellence for the 2024-2025 school year.  To earn a School of Excellence the school’s percentage of possible points earned in its school grade calculation is in the 80th percentile or higher for schools comprised of the same grade groupings (i.e., elementary, middle, high, and combination) for at least two of the last three school years.
